ARTISTS ARE JUST CHILDREN CANVAS

I've been having a lot of fun in the craft room while the winter winds blow outside.

Today I would like to share an 8" x 10" mixed media canvas featuring some of  Andy Skinner's new line of products with Creative Expressions.

I thought the melting crayons technique worked perfectly with this sentiment stamp!  The background was done using some of Andy's new Chalk Paint colors and stamped with his "Memories of India" stamp.  LOVE IT!

You can check out all of the photos and tutorial step by step on his mixed media blog

YOUNG LOVE CANVAS BOARD FOR DECOART MEDIA BLOG

Ah ... it's February ... the month we celebrate love.

Recently I have been experimenting with mixing mixed media art and images from vintage photographs. I find the contrast of mixing old and new rather fascinating.  My most recent piece is a little Valentine 5"x7" canvas board I've titled "Young Love".  Here is a sneak peek.

You can find the entire project and a complete pictorial tutuorial at
DecoArt's Mixed Media Blog.

This project could either be done on a canvas or on heavyweight cardstock or watercolor paper to create your own sweet Valentine card.

As an added bonus, I am sharing the photograph of the sweet little couple with you.

Aren't they just precious?

I hope you'll check them out over at DecoArt's Mixed Media Blog.  If you'd like to leave a comment here and there, I love reading your thoughts.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

"SOAR" WITH DECOART PRODUCTS!

Happy Friday everyone!

It's a little bit vintage, a little bit steampunk and a whole lot mixed media!!

Did you think that DecoArt's Matte Medium is just for gluing and sealing? It works great for photo transfers and creating "skins" as well.

I invite you to click HERE and visit the DecoArt Mixed Media Blog for the pictorial step by step in creating this very fun, very dimensional canvas.

Have a fun weekend and give yourself some time to be creative and play!
